The final event in the Lumiose Tour, France's grassroots Expanded circuit, was held on Sunday, October 25, at Tofopolis in Poissy, near Paris. 16 players qualified through the various events held over the summer all over the country, plus last year's champion, gathered for one final event. The metagame was varied:
Regidrago was the most represented deck, as expected, but many people brought decks to try to counter it, such as
Shadow Rider,
Snorlax Stall, and ![]()
Evo Vileplume.
Despite that, after five rounds and a cut to top 4, all in best of three, it was still Regidrago that emerged victorious. Antoine "vegetarsal" Fichefet became the 2026 Lumiose Tour champion, using an aggressive variant of the deck, featuring Mega Kangaskhan ex

Because Hisuian Goodra VSTAR is common again in Regidrago decks, it's harder to win the mirror match by using Timeless GX followed by Noivern ex's Dominating Echo. This list takes a much more aggressive approach for this matchup: going first, drawing as much as possible on turn 1 (hence Sky Field, four Battle VIP Pass, double Carmine, Squawkabilly ex, and Mega Kangaskhan ex), and using triple Guzma in order to start attacking the opponent's benched Regidrago on turn 2, even under Itchy Pollen. Antoine also chose to cut some Energy cards (and Crispin) and run double Stealthy Hood instead, to deal with Lillie's Clefairy ex and Garbodor, both of which Antoine expected to face.
Runner-up Nicolas Berger also played Regidrago, but he chose to play the ![]()
Klefki variant. He stated he wanted a Regidrago variant that goes first because using Budew is not enough to stop an opponent's highroll, and Klefki gave him the opportunity to cheese games even against stronger players. He included Stealthy Hood as well, expecting
Mega Absol decks with Garbodor.

I made top 4 with
Gardevoir. I felt like the deck would be strong against other anti-Regidrago decks that players would bring, like Shadow Rider, and I wanted to play high stakes games against Regidrago to stress test the Secret Box variant of Gardevoir.
And rounding up the top 4 was Esteban Marques, who brought the list of ![]()

Overall, I'm very happy with how this second edition of the Lumiose Tour went, and I would like to thank all the organizers and judges that made it happen. In particular, I'm very grateful to the Tofopolis shop for agreeing to host the final event after our other plans fell through. And finally, congratulations to Antoine! An Expanded devotee from Strasbourg (in the east of France), he has contributed a lot to the development of his local Expanded scene, and he's spent a lot of time testing the format, so I can't imagine a worthier champion!
