Snorlax Snorlax Stall Tier 1 Stall Basic Single Prize

Stall has long had a presence in Expanded, and was even a top tier deck at times. Given how optimized Expanded decks are, a deck that targets their resources can sometimes be too much to handle. Snorlax Stall does exactly that, through a variety of options: some decks can be shut down by SnorlaxSnorlax locking a Pokémon in the Active Spot, while others are walled by MimikyuMimikyu or just ran out of Energy through the use of disruptive Supporters.

After being overlooked for a long time, Snorlax Stall came back with a vengeance at CL Aichi 2026, getting a spot in top 4 and another in top 8, showing that the archetype is still a very relevant part of the Expanded format, provided it can find a way to beat Regidrago Regidrago. If you hate losing to Stall, don't despair, though! Cards like Escape RopeEscape Rope, MarnieMarnie and Silent LabSilent Lab are usable in a variety of decks and can cause issues for a deck that mostly wins by trapping a Pokémon.

Note that there are two Japanese-exclusive promos that are often ran in this kind of deck: Palace Book and Players' Ceremony. The closest replacement for both of them (and also a good card in Japanese Expanded) would be Tropical BeachTropical Beach, which is hard to come by for most players. However, it might be possible to use Rotom VRotom V or even Boxed OrderBoxed Order as a draw engine instead.
