Raichu AlolaElectrode Electro Rain OTK Tier 2 Stage 1 Combo OTK

Looking for degenerate decks? Electro Rain is a deck that sacrifices four Prizes by using Electrode GXElectrode GX's Ability twice in order to load up an Alolan RaichuAlolan Raichu with a ton of Special Energy, then use the titular attack to take 6 Prizes, all on the first turn of the game (technically, on the second turn, but the deck makes the opponent skip their turn with Gengar & Mimikyu GXGengar & Mimikyu GX's Horror House GX).

Sounds broken? It is... when it works. Like all the decks that can win this fast, Electro Rain is weak to disruptive cards, and cards like Silent LabSilent Lab or SudowoodoSudowoodo can stop it from making its combo work. Perhaps more importantly, Bench Barrier Pokémon like Mr. MimeMr. Mime require an answer; if you build Electro Rain without one (or you can't draw it), you lose the game.

While Electro Rain used to be a huge threat and got second place at CL Aichi in 2024, it has considerably waned in popularity since then, notably because the widespread popularity of BudewBudew makes it harder to make its combo work (Budew can attack even on the turn after Horror House GX, which can prevent Electro Rain from using cards for its combo). It did get a second wind at CL Aichi 2026, though, getting top 4 and proving that Electro Rain can still be a strong choice in the right metagame.
